We are not the biggest, but we are one of the oldest established transporters with all the knowledge and dependability that comes with years of experience.
We have employees who have been with us for almost 30 years, long before most of today's transport companies were even in existence!
And our top mechanics each average 21 years of service with Concrete Structure.
Established over 50 years ago, in February 1968 by Francesco Bongiovanni, Concrete Structure was initially engaged in road works within Zimbabwe, focusing on bridge building and heavy concrete works. In 1990, when Francesco retired, his son Vittorio took over the company and transformed the business from construction to transport. Initially the company operated tipper trucks, involved in road works and the haulage of aggregate from quarries within Zimbabwe but has shifted its core business over the years to emerge as a leading cross border operator specialising in the transportation of bulk fuel, break-bulk and containerised general cargo throughout the Southern Africa region.
Contracts we have held over the years have included :-
- RDS 12 of 1986 (RDS 12/86): construction of Gondo River bridge
- RDS 35/84: construction of Chitsikisa River bridge (Chivu/ Buhera/ Maradzano road)
- 1984: Umrodzi combined irrigation scheme (construction of measuring channel for irrigation scheme downstream of Umrodzi dam- Concession Weir- Brad Rutherford)
- RDS 24/82: Lower Chiredzi River bridge
- 1982: Repair of Senga and Chipfungwe River bridges
- RDS 33/82: construction of Musitwe River bridge (Harare- Mutare Road)
- RDS 8/82: construction of the Upper Chiredzi river bridge and box culvert on the Lothian/ Zaka Road
- 9/82: widening of Ruwa River bridge on the Salisbury- Umtali Road
- RDS 2/81: construction of Gwebi River bridge (Inkomo- Darwendale road)
- RDS 31/81: Road- Rail bridge Norton: Salisbury-Gwelu Road
- w/4/1980: Kariba town council water augmentation scheme (Kariba water works)
- c.386/1980: 3000 cubic metre reservoir: Dangamvura- Umtali

- 1977: anti- sabotage protection work on bridges in Mashonaland East province;

o 1977: Anti- sabotage work on Hunyani bridge (collapsed)- built in 1972, issues 1974, anti- sabotage 1977
